Scout Uniform

All new Scouts will need a uniform which can be purchased at:
  Woburn Scout Shop

2 Tower Office Park, Woburn, MA 01801
Just tell them that you are a new Scout with Troop 507 and they will tell you everything you need. Please note we will provide your child with a neckerchief and a Scout Book.  These do not need to be purchased at the Scout Store. For information and a diagram on where to put patches on the uniform, please see the file below.

Scout Equipment

Scouts will need some basic equipment to participate on camping trips and other outings. Many items can be purchased over time as some may be expensive. The Troop also has a lot of equipment that can be borrowed, so please ask if you need anything. Here is a list of some of the key items:
  1. 2-Person Tent
  2. Sleeping Bag - Ideally rated to 20˚F or lower
  3. Sleeping Pad
  4. Clothing - It is important to have winter/foul weather clothing that include:  water-proof hiking boots/shoes (most important), fleece pullover or jacket, synthetic long underwear, winter gloves (two pair in case one gets wet), winter hats, rain gear.
  5. Camping Backpack - 60 Liters volume with an internal frame

Besides the items above, your Scout should also have the following:
  • Mess kit – Plastic is better that metal when it comes to mess kits, especially in the freezing winter.
  • Water bottles – Every Scout should bring two water bottles to every Troop outing.
  • Headlamp
  • Pocket knife - Scouts must pass required safety training before they are allowed to use them.

We can provide recommendations on specific gear. Just ask.
